@rune @meena Oh, I thought it was cause semiconductor fabs shut down production lines because they anticipated lower demand?

@x44203 @meena the semiconductor shortage is partially a lack of production, but we're seeing lots of other shortages after the the singular event that happened in suez canal. Before then half of America didn't have enough gas because of one pipeline. And before that there wasn't enough toilet paper for months.

@x44203 @meena Capitalism believes in making unredundant supply lines and only making exactly enough products to maximize profits. And then every business and consumer starts hoarding whatever is in apparent low supply further exacerbating the issue.

If natural systems worked this way we'd all be dead.
