Gotta say, my first time being consistently misgendered in ages was at hospital for a gender affirmation procedure. Top job. And just like I predicted, they instantly threw out the gender/pronoun fields of my application forms and just stamped “GENDER: M” on everything. Top notch job
Hospital, pre-admission: “bring one bag with all your stuff for overnight stay”
Admission nurse: “no you can’t bring your bag. Leave it with your family.” *deadnames me to her face with me right there*
Surgical reception to my partner: “you can’t see her, visiting hours are over. No you can’t give her her bag. Why do you have a bag?? Leave it there we’ll give it to her” *points to the floor in a public hallway*
It then took hours and asking three different nurses for me to get the bag that had just been left lying who knows where
