@RussSharek @avalon finally sorted out X11VNC launching at boot and working correctly, including key remap for the Mac screen sharing passing the command key weirdly

re: ramble-vent at Netflix

like sure these shows always have a Diversity Pick in there but how many times AREN'T they unfairly eliminated as soon as they do anything remotely representing their oppression instead of a cutesy rainbow happy piece

re: ramble-vent at Netflix

oh yeah important context, they were the only black contestant and did a black power fist sculpture and specifically noted the way they were representing resistance to oppression HMMM

ramble-vent at Netflix

Went to watch the Netflix metal shop masters show (like blown away but for welding/steel fabrication). And there was a super hot and capable nb person called Seven on it who made a sick sculpture and then of course got eliminated first so gotta say I'm mad

I'm working on my script for automating & making convenient SSHing using FIDO keys. Is anyone interested in helping me test?
Ideally you'd have multiple FIDO keys and destinations you can SSH into. :boost_ok:

Label design & printing went very well I think. The brother software’s vector symbols/shapes may be rudimentary, but with a bit of imagination you can convey a lot visually.
Also thanks to @ljwrites for suggesting Atkinson Hyperlegible font, I really dig its DIN-ish no nonsense technical attitude and of course, legibility.

Mounting my labelmaker (PC-controlled over USB) directly above my laptop was an excellent decision because every time I hit print, I get a little rain of labels as the automatic cutter spits them out

@ljwrites just saw your display name and have to say it raised several alarming questions which are technically answered by your display name

Somewhere in this apartment is my 10TB “offsite” backup drive and I’ve got to say it’s not going to live up to its name if I can’t find it to take it offsite in the first place

I would like to amend the truism about backups to “it’s not a real backup until you’ve tried restoring from it, *and actually know where it is*”

Holocaust, history

was reading the other day that one of the four death camps, Sobibor, actually stopped operating in 1943 because of a prisoner revolt where they killed a dozen SS and 300 escaped, facing barbed wire obstacles and machine gun fire.

The Nazis dismantled the camp and planted trees to hide that it was ever there.

kind of amazing the parts of the story that get emphasized and those that don't. These people were starving to death and still fought and won their freedom.
